Vice-President Kashim Shettima has expressed his deep shock over the passing of Richard Tallen, the son of former Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen.
Accompanied by Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President (Office of the Vice President), Shettima visited the Tallen family residence in Abuja to offer his condolences.
Describing the loss as “unexpected,” Shettima prayed for the peaceful repose of Richard’s soul, acknowledging his promising future and contributions to Nigeria’s development.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the late Minister’s son,” he stated. “He had a bright future ahead and was actively contributing to our nation’s growth.”

In his remarks to the grieving family, Shettima emphasized the profound sorrow that such a loss brings to any parent.
“I can only imagine the pain you are experiencing right now. On behalf of my principal, President Bola Tinubu, I extend my heartfelt condolences.”
He continued, “May God provide you with the strength to endure this pain, and may your family find solace in the knowledge that God is the giver and taker of life, as we all live at His will. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Richard Tallen passed away in Abuja over the weekend and is survived by his wife and three children.
