Security operatives have successfully rescued six farmers who were kidnapped by terrorists in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State while they were harvesting crops.
The state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, shared this news in an official statement. He reported that the abducted individuals, including three women and three children, were taken on September 26 while gathering maize at a farm close to Gurbi Magariya village.

According to the statement, a rapid response was organized, involving local vigilantes and the Community Watch Corp, alongside military personnel, police, civil defense, and the Department of State Services (DSS). Together, they pursued the bandits and managed to rescue the hostages.
Dr. Mu’azu commended the security agencies and vigilantes for their efforts in ensuring the safe return of the kidnapped farmers, highlighting the importance of collaboration in tackling security challenges in the region.
