    Soludo puts curses, N10m bounty on killers of 7 people in Anambra

    Anambra governor Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday rained curses in addition to bounty of N10 million on gunmen who killed seven people in an attack in Ihiala area of the state.

    Speaking during a condolence visit to the families of the deceased, Soludo also urged residents of Ihiala to also take up the challenge of fighting insecurity in the area by providing information to security agencies.

    He particularly challenged community leaders to stand up and ensure that the such a dastard attack will not happen again in the area again.

    “Anyone that will give information that will lead us to get these killers, the government will give that person N10 million.

    “We are bringing N10 million on their heads- each of them,” he stated in a mixture of Igbo and English.

    He also rained curses on the gunmen, saying their generation will never see good things.

    “I am saying on behalf of Anambra State that all the people who carried out this attack and killings, their generation, will never see good things.

    “They, their children and all their supporters will not witness good things,” Premium Times quoted the governor as saying in Igbo language.

    The Police Command in Anambra had earlier indicated that it had launched a manhunt for the assailants who on Monday attacked security operatives and unarmed civilians in Ihiala.

    The spokesperson for the command SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Monday explained that the unfortunate attack carried out around 11:20 a. m. resulted in the death of seven persons among which were two unarmed passers-by.

    According to him, the Joint Security Team rescued one of the victims who is currently responding to treatment in a hospital.

    “Information also had it that the armed men started shooting sporadically at a venue where preparations are ongoing for a burial ceremony slated for 2nd of Jan., 2025.

    “While escaping the scene, the armed men shot at two security operatives at a security Observation Post close to the local government headquaters by the express road,” he said.
