Speaker calls for inter-tribal marriages to strengthen national unity

Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has urged Nigerians to embrace inter-tribal marriages to promote national unity, peace, and integration among the country’s diverse ethnic and religious groups.
Jatau made this appeal during the wedding ceremony of Mr. Musa Gude, a member representing Uke/Karshi State Constituency, and his wife, Hajiya Asmau Ahmadu.
The wedding took place on Friday at Al’furQan Masjid in Nasarawa LGA, Kano State.
The speaker emphasized that the union between the couple would strengthen the relationship between Kano and Nasarawa States.

He also advised the newlyweds to practice patience, tolerance, forgiveness, and other virtues for a successful marriage, stating the importance of effective communication and understanding.
“On behalf of myself, Honourable members, and staff of the Nasarawa State House Assembly, we rejoice with Hon. Musa Saidu Gude, the Jagaban Karshi, and his wife. We are happy for them and pray for God’s blessings on their marriage,” Jatau said.
He cautioned Hon. Gude against showing discrimination or preferential treatment in his family affairs and advised the couple to avoid third-party interference in their marriage.
Jatau also used the occasion to call for peaceful coexistence and tolerance among the people of Nasarawa, Kano, and other states for the country’s overall development. The groom, who took Asmau as his fourth wife, expressed gratitude to God for fulfilling their dream.
