Nigerians have been advised to always vote the right people into power and the position of authorities for the repositioning of the country’s education, economy and other sectors.

The planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, who gave the advice lamented that most Nigerians no longer belief in the ability of the nation’s education in equipping and preparing students adequately for the future.

The renowned Cleric stated these while featuring on a live (NITORI OGO) programme on Adamimogo FM where he spoke on the state of the nation, particularly education sector and other issues in Nigeria.

“Let every community meet and discuss this with their traditional rulers and show interest in the politics in their domains as well as their state. It will get to that level in Nigeria, that they will be asking the politicians to swear to an oath, are you coming to make our town good and better or to destroy it? What do you want to do for our town, so that it will not be a person who will come and deceive people, only buying beer for the youths without establishing industries to employ and empower them.”

Olu-Alo, who is the CAC Zonal Superintendent Nigeria and Overseas, blamed parts of the nation’s problems on the less privileged said they always cherish monetary gains during elections to the disadvantage of those who have the interest of the country at heart.

He also said that some Nigerians are sending their children and wards to schools abroad to buy and secure the future for them.

On those accused of being responsible for the country’s plight, Prophet Olu-Alo said, “Nigeria is not the problem, but most of us who called ourselves the poor,we are the ones troubling the country and causing her problems. Those at the corridor of power, the security agents, the rich are not up to 20 million in Nigeria and even 30 million.

“When you look at it , less privileged and the poor are larger in number in Nigeria, with their large number, if they see somebody who is not ready to distribute money to them and deceive them but can help the community or the nation, it is the poor people that will work against the person, they will say he is stingy. I said something recently, about the politicians not being foundation because they know the poor love being appease and always adapt to unpalatable situation.

“Come June 2026, all manners of foundations will be coming and give out items like garri , eggs and the people will be fighting themselves to get their share. An individual who truly love the people, the town and the nation will not be recognized. If we want our schools and the education to be good,Nigerians should start voting and electing right people into positions and stop practicing politics of bitterness.

“In America and other advanced countries, party candidates will tell the people what they have for them and their country in a debate, and they will be voted for based on what they say during the debate. It is not the people that will deceive the electorate and who they will call and won’t answer them. Those that will make it in Nigeria, we  are the ones that will fight to emancipate ourselves not through a war or battle which requires guns and other weapons.

“Sometimes ago, I was asked about my view on the call by some  people that Nigeria should break up.I said if such should happen to Nigeria, who will be our leaders?  because the set of people leading us and failing us will be pushed forward to lead us, and things will continue to get worse, until we change our mentality with which we do our things in Nigeria .That is why I said, Nigeria as a nation is not the problem but we the citizenry are the cause of our problems.

“For example, is it the rich that went to buy a basket of pepper at the rate of N30,000  and started selling it between N70,000 and N80,000 and he trekked to take it from the farm. For Ooni of Ife, to come out and go to the market to dissolve the association of pepper  sellers ,do they brought the peppers from the North?, They actually brought the peppers, vegetables then from their local farms.

“Of a truth, the fuel price was on the high side when they brought the items, but it is not as high as 500 percent . Then , we thought it was the rich people that will suffer for it. As things are hard in the country, most of the rich people are not feeling the heat of the hardship much, that is why I said,  it is only few people that we have in that category in Nigeria”.

He maintained that we can improve our education in Nigeria, from our local government level by letting the people to deliberately vote for the right person.

“Somebody who never have a house and has never done anything that is beneficial to his or her community may not do the people any good as a politician. How will such bring good school to such community.Things can  only get better if the poor and the less privileged  play our positive roles and responsibilities. Some of us who are privileged and exposed can also make Nigeria better for our people to benefit by starting to think about what  we can do to transform our community.

“In the olden days, it is the private businesses that thrives better more that the public, but it is the poor people working in such organizations that run them down these days through their dubious and unholy activities and this is discouraging people like me to establish a school even though God has not led me into it “.

Speaking further on why some well to do Nigerians are sending their children to school abroad, he said,  The reason being that , when you look at our primary schools in the country, most of government officials, they had free education when they were schooling, thanks to the then government of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo who introduced it that made them to go to school. It was the education they acquired then they are using to lead us in Nigeria today.

“But from our primary school up to the university level now, teachers and lecturers always embark on strike action.Had it being, we have good educational system in this country, there won’t be much private schools in our country. For instance, when gave out books to students in my home town, there were 11 public schools students and 8 private school students and those in private schools are almost more than those in public schools.

“Why are the people enrolling their children in private schools and not public schools again? Meanwhile, public schools in those days  have good and experienced teachers, but now, I am sorry to say this , there are public school teachers who cannot speak English fluently. And people want their children to have good education .It is knowledgeable people who are making mark in their chosen careers that leaving this country in drove and we don’t take cognizance of this. The reason why they are leaving the country is that , they discovered that their children are not making progress.

“Some people do say education is good  but if we must say the truth, most Nigerians cannot defend  the certificates they are flaunting . Why? The reason is that they got the certificates through dubious means as some didn’t go to school but can buy the certificates and there are miracle centres. So , those leaving the country are not going  to permanently live abroad for life, they only want to secure the future for their children.

“Children of 70 percent of Nigerian leaders who are telling people   not to leave Nigeria for another country schooled abroad, especially for their first and second degrees.I was told about a hospital in Nigeria, which used to have people from overseas coming for surgery and treatment, but now, even people in Nigeria hardly patronise the facility not to talk about those abroad.

“What I am saying in essence is that ,  people traveling out does not necessarily mean they have a lot of money but to secure tomorrow for their children for them not to suffer in the future and will later send them back .I usually tell people blessed by God to send their children to school even in foreign land , those who have vision for Nigeria for them to come back to Nigeria to use the education to develop Nigeria. If it how we will continue to do thing in Nigeria  it is as if we want the poor to continue to be poor, those who seem to be enslaved . Some of our rich men are saying any Nigerian that failed to make heaven, it means he or she has gone to the second hell fire because we have suffered in Nigeria and the person will get to heaven and will continue to suffer in hell fire. So, it is good for the people to by the future ahead for their children”.

Counselling the government, the man of God said ,”If they don’t want people to be leaving Nigeria for overseas, government should reposition the education sector and recruit competent teachers into all our schools, from the basic to the tertiary level and ensure that their welfare is always prioritised.

Also, the teachers as they getting their salaries regularly, should be dedicated to their duties”.

On the Pastors’ Conference of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) currently holding at Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State, Prophet Sam Olu Alo greeted the President Pastor Samuel Oladele and leaders of the religious body including Pastor Isaac Olu Eyebiokin of CAC Essien Region of Ogun State and Benin Republic.
