The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria have stormed their way into the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) with a resounding 3-1 victory over the Black Stars of Ghana on Saturday, sealing their spot in the prestigious tournament.
The first leg in Accra, Ghana, had ended in a goalless draw, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Right from the kick-off, the Eagles soared with confidence, dominating the game and leaving their opponents stunned.
It took just 19 minutes for Sodiq Ismail to break the deadlock, sending the home crowd into raptures with a well-taken goal.

But the onslaught didn’t stop there—three minutes later, Nduka Junior doubled Nigeria’s advantage, leaving Ghana scrambling to find their rhythm.
In the 26th minute, Savior Isaac added a third, putting Nigeria firmly in control with a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The Ghanaians, not ones to give up easily, came out fighting in the second half, and in the 73rd minute, Stephen Amenkona pulled one back for the visitors, giving them a glimmer of hope. But it was too little, too late.
With a 3-1 aggregate score, the Super Eagles sealed their qualification for the 2025 CHAN, much to the delight of their fans and football pundits alike.
