Super Falcons crash to Brazil in Women’s Olympics football opener

The Super Falcons of Nigeria crashed 0-1 to Brazil on Thursday in their opening match in Group C of Women’s Olympics football.
Gabi Nunes scored the only goal of the match in the 37th minute of the first half after he was assisted by ageless Martha.
The Falcons gave a good account of themselves as the match was balanced as the two sides shared equal possession.

While the Nigerian female had 15 attempts attempts on goal, the Brazilian women had 11. The Falcons also had five shots on goal with Brazil having six.
The Nigerian goal keeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie saved five clear shots from the Brazilians, while the Brazilian goal keeper also saved five shots.
The Super Falcons are now placed last in Group C after Spain beat Japan 2-1 in the other match of the group.
