Suspected terrorists have killed three persons, including an operative of the Katsina State Security Watch Corps (KSWC), Kabir Abdullahi, during an attack in Batsari Council of the state.
The incident occurred at Sakijiki Village in the wee hours of yesterday’s morning at about 1:00am, when the deceased was returning home from work. It was learnt that Abdullahi had completed his shift and was heading back home, when he saw a group of persons trying to abduct a resident.
It was gathered that when the terrorists saw him, they let their victim escape, but lied to the deceased that the resident was suspected to be a terrorist.
The deceased, who was said to have let his guards down, as he thought the terrorists were also security operatives, decided to join them to pursue and apprehend the fleeing person.
But it was in process that the terrorists shot him dead, even as they were said to have left with his official weapon. In a related development, terrorists have killed two persons and abducted three others in Karbau Village, which is also located in Batsari Council.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night when the terrorists attacked the community. It was gathered that several people sustained injuries during the attack, while household valuables were carted away by the terrorists. Both police and KSWC officials have not responded to inquiries on the two incidents as at the time of filing this report.
