Technician electrocuted in Port Harcourt

A technician simply identified as Austin has been electrocuted while carrying out repair works in the ceiling of a popular Wine Bar facility in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was gathered that the technician who is from Kogi State was electrocuted on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at the popular wine bar located at Gas Turbine road, Rumuekini, Obio-Akpor local government area of the state.
The incident reportedly threw the staff of the wine bar into confusion as they did not know what to do immediately after the incident occurred.

But it was learnt that some concerned neighbours raised alarm after they learnt about the incident and this prompted the management of the wine Bar to make a formal complaint at the Choba Police Division.
It was gathered that following the report, police officers were drafted to the scene to retrieve the corpse of the deceased and carry out on the spot assessment of the scene.
The Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident.
SP Koko said, “yes I can confirm the incident. Police officers from Choba Police had visited the scene for preliminary investigation and further investigation is still on. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary.”
