Timilehin Ajayi opens up: How and why I killed my girlfriend

Timilehin Ajayi, the 32-year-old man who was arrested at New Karshi area of Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State for killing Salome Elejo Adaidu, his girlfriend, has explained how and why he committed the gruesome act.
Ajayi was arrested by operatives of Nasarawa State Police Command for the murder of Adaidu, a 24-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Ajayi, who killed Salome at his house at New Karshi was paraded at the headquarters of the Nasarawa State Police Command on Tuesday with the knife and machetes he used to slaughter Salome.
Speaking during the parade,Ajayi who was arrested on January 12, in the process of trying to dispose of the head of Salome after killing her and dismembering her body parts at his house said he has no regrets about his action.
In a video of the parade posted on Channels Television, Ajayi confessed that he killed his girlfriend because she was cheating on him.
He said he caught the late Salome sex-chatting and confronted her with his findings.
“She is always cheating. I caught her sex-chatting. She was always cheating, She hides most of the things from me most times. I know because I saw her phones and most of the chats with the other guys, that’s what I saw on the phone,” Ajayi said.

“What happened that day was very simple. I caught her cheating on me, she refused, she doesn’t want to accept. I showed her the chats before she admitted and she told me that she is sorry. It’s never going to happen again,” he added.
Ajayi added that he has no regrets killing Salome even after she apologized and promised never to cheat on him again.
“I don’t have any regret killing her, because life is reciprocal, that’s what I thought and if you must be with someone, you have to understand what that person is going through so that you can put yourself in the position that person is going through because I know that we are compatible.”
On how he killed his girlfriend after the argument about the cheating, Ajayi said: “After that, I asked her to go into the bathroom, she went into the bathroom and she started saying some things. I couldn’t take it lightly, I have to go into the restroom. I took the knife from the restroom and went into her lay her down, hold her neck and I took a knife and did what I have to do. She died, nothing really happened.”
The killer denied that he was caught after killing his girlfriend. Rather, Ajayi said he surrendered himself to be arrested.
I was not caught. I surrender myself. if I didn’t want anybody to catch me, I would have done that. It is very simple, to be honest.”
“It is not a big thing to pay,” Ajayi who described himself as a crypto currency trader rather than a gospel singer he was touted as in the media said when he was asked if he is ready to pay for his crime.
