President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep condolences to the families and members of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria following the tragic death of 40 members in a road accident on Sunday.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was reported that several others were injured in the crash. The victims were traveling from Kwandari in Plateau State to attend a Maulud Nabiy celebration in Saminaka, Kaduna State, when their bus collided with a truck in Lere town, Kaduna.

President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as the governments of Kaduna and Plateau states. He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
In response to the tragedy, the president also directed the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to enhance its highway monitoring efforts in order to reduce the occurrence of road accidents across the country.
