Tinubu reacts as Mimiko hits 70

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, on his 70th birthday, celebrating his attainment of the biblical milestone of “three scores and ten.”
Joining family, friends, and associates in the celebration, Tinubu expressed gratitude to God for preserving the life of the esteemed medical doctor, popularly known as “Iroko.”
Reflecting on Mimiko’s journey, the President recalled his days as a student union activist and his fight to reclaim his gubernatorial mandate in 2009, a struggle that inspired similar efforts across the country.
Tinubu highlighted Dr. Mimiko’s contributions to Ondo State and Nigeria, acknowledging his roles as Commissioner for Health, Minister of Housing, Secretary to the State Government, and Governor from 2009 to 2017.

Mimiko’s political career, including being the first governor produced by the Labour Party, was also recognized as a trailblazing achievement.
The President praised Mimiko’s grassroots leadership and dedication to the people, noting that his sacrifices and leadership style have earned him widespread respect.
Tinubu prayed for continued wisdom and good health for the former governor and expressed hope that Mimiko would remain actively involved in shaping Nigeria’s future.
