President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s economic recovery and national development, pledging to redouble his efforts to deliver prosperity for all.
Speaking at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, Tinubu welcomed the vote of confidence passed on his administration, describing it as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility.
“I appreciate this vote of confidence and wholeheartedly accept it. However, it is not just an endorsement but a challenge to do even more. We will vigorously pursue food security, attract investment, and drive sustainable development,” the President declared.
He expressed optimism about the country’s economic trajectory, highlighting improvements in key sectors and a gradual return to stability.
“I am pleased to see food prices coming down, especially as Ramadan approaches. Despite global uncertainties, Nigeria is witnessing economic growth and resilience. I extend my gratitude to the governors for their dedication,” he added.
Tinubu commended Nigerians for their trust in the APC and assured that his administration would continue to collaborate with all arms of government to achieve national progress. He also acknowledged the commitment of APC governors, National Assembly members, and party leaders in advancing the party’s vision.
“I appreciate our governors for embracing positive change and our lawmakers for their swift consideration of the national budget. Our party remains a progressive platform dedicated to delivering quality governance,” he said.
The President also urged party leaders to resolve lingering internal disputes at the state level, directing the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to set up committees to address these concerns.

“The NWC is performing excellently, but we must work towards resolving conflicts in various states. I appeal to all party leaders to remain patient and cooperative,” Tinubu stated.
APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, praised party members for their resilience and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fulfilling its electoral promises.
“Though the journey has been challenging, we have risen to the occasion and continue to meet Nigerians’ expectations,” Ganduje said.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio assured that the National Assembly remains steadfast in supporting the administration’s efforts to revamp the economy and drive development.
“The Senate will expedite the passage of legislation that promotes economic growth and national progress,” Akpabio said.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, lauded Tinubu’s leadership, commending his willingness to take bold and sometimes unpopular decisions necessary for Nigeria’s development.
The NEC meeting followed a high-level APC caucus gathering on Tuesday night, where party leaders applauded Tinubu’s economic policies.
They noted significant improvements, including a 3.84% GDP growth in the last quarter of 2024 and a steady decline in inflation.
