United States Democrats have extended their majority in the Senate after Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Republican challenger Herschel Walker.
The victory expanded Democrats’ Senate majority to 51 seats.
All the networks, including the NBC News and CNN projected Warnock’s victory, with 98 percent of the expected votes counted.
According to NBC, Warnock garnered 50.7 percent of the votes, to Walker’s 49.3 percent.
With 98 percent of the over three million ballots counted, Warnock got 1, 738,056 votes to Walker’s 1,688, 825 votes.
The candidates advanced to the runoff after neither of them received 50% of the vote in the Nov. 8 general midterm election.
