Barely two months after his UEFA Champions League heroics for Real Madrid, Joselu is set to leave the Spanish champions.
Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Monday. The transfer market expert said the 34-year-old will join Qatari side, Al Gharafa.
“Joselu leaves Real Madrid and he’s set to join Qatari side Al Gharafa!
“Real Madrid will not trigger €1.5m buy option because Joselu wants to try new chapter, he’s moving to Qatar,” Romano wrote on Facebook.
He added that the deal is “at final stages”.

Joselu joined Real Madrid on loan from Segunda Division side Espanyol in June 2023 until June 30, 2024. The Spaniard made his UCL debut against Union Berlin three months later.
He scored the winning goal in Real Madrid’s semi-final win over city rivals Atletico Madrid in January 2024 en route to the club’s Supercopa de España triumph.
On May 8, he scored two late goals as Real Madrid saw off Bayern Munich 2–1 in the UCL semi-finals second leg and advanced to the finals.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat another German side, Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in London to clinch the UCL title.
