He emphasized his commitment to strengthening the UK-U.S. alliance, describing it as a bond built on shared values. “Congratulations, President-elect Trump, on your historic election victory,” Starmer wrote. “I look forward to collaborating with you in the years ahead. As the closest of allies, we stand united in our commitment to freedom, democracy, and enterprise.”

Starmer added that he is confident the UK-U.S. relationship will continue to thrive across both economic and security sectors. Starmer’s outreach to Trump also comes amid recent tension, as Trump’s campaign had filed a legal complaint about alleged support for Vice President Kamala Harris from some Labour activists.
