Four Professors from various disciplines have been elected Senate Representatives as internal members to the 10th Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The newly elected Senate Representatives elected and as announced included Prof. Pius Okeke (Department of Accountancy, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences) – 152 votes; Rev. Fr. Prof. Ken Oraegbunam (International Law and Jurisprudence, Faculty of Law) – 119 votes; Prof. Tracie Utoh-Ezeajugh (Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Faculty of Arts) – 115 votes, and Prof. Igwebuike Onyiorah (Department of Anatomical Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Basic Clinical Medicine) – 111 votes
A statement signed by Dr Emmanuel C. Ojukwu, Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor (Information and Public Relations) said the election which took place during the 226th Senate Meeting of the university presided over presided over by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umob on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 was supervised by Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. (Prof). Peter Agbonome, alongside the Acting Registrar, Rev. Samuel Ufoh.
Ojukwu disclosed that the four members were chosen from a pool of 21 nominated candidates who scored various votes during the election.
