The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have postponed the much-anticipated National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting originally slated for October 24 to November 28.
The governors, after they met with members of the party National Working Committee (NWC), the Board of Trustees (BoT) and other organs of the party, in a meeting that lasted about five hours, called on all members to shun divisive utterances that could undermine ongoing efforts at strengthening the party.
Addressing newsmen while reading the communique of the meeting, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Govenror, Bala Mohammed explained why the NEC meeting was postponed.
He said that the postponement is to ensure that the party goes into the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections of November 16, 2024, with the unity and strength demanded to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC).
