    Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has visited the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College in Ilorin, the state capital, where he lauded the exceptional achievements of students in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

    Abdulrazaq visited the school to congratulate the 35 students who scored between 300 and 355 in the national examination.

    This was revealed in a video shared on social media by the sate government on Monday.

    The caption read, “HE Governor #RealAARahman (CON) paying a visit to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College in Ilorin to congratulate the school and its 35 students who scored between 300 and 355 in the recently held Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.”

    Abdulrazaq was said to have praised the institution for its consistent efforts in nurturing academic excellence among its students, as he also emphasised the importance of quality education in uplifting the educational standards in the state.

    The caption added, “He commended the school for making the state proud with the excellent results in the national examination. The governor also acknowledged the great strides of some public school students who posted superlative performances in the examination.

    “He said the feats, along with other successes of the state, sum up the emergence of Kwara on the national stage as a go-to state for quality education.”

    PUNCH Online had earlier reported on Friday that the school confirmed 30 of its students who scored between 300 and 355, out of a total of over 8,000 students who achieved this feat nationwide.

    According to a list made available by the school, two students, Fasesin Ayomiposi and Kunle-Olawepo Ayomikun, emerged as the highest scorers with 355 points.

    Other top performers include Adelodun Oluwadarasimi and Ayejuto Daniel with 341 points, and Idris Jamaaldeen with 333 points, among others.
