President Bola Tinubu has jokingly referred to his fall at the Eagle Square on Wednesday as a “swagger”
Tinubu had approached the motorcade vehicle shortly after he arrived at the venue of the 2024 Democracy Day, but lost his footing momentarily as he was about to step into the vehicle.
The incident went viral on social media with some, especially ‘Obidients’ fans mocking him while others sympathised with him and said it could happen to anyone.
But delivering his speech at the state Banquet Dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to mark Democracy Day, the president joking said he had a swagger early this morning which was on social media.

He said the people were confused whether he was doing ‘Buga’ or doing ‘babariga,’ said he did ‘Idobale’ to celebrate democracy day, as he is a traditional Yoruba boy.
In his words: “With a dash of humour, Tinubu said, “Early this morning, I had a swagger and it’s on the social media. They were confused about whether I was doing Buga or doing babariga, But, It is a day to celebrate democracy while doing “Idobale” for the day.
“I am a traditionally Yoruba boy and I did my ‘Idobale’”
