Wedding controversy: Wofai Fada responds with ‘Let love lead’, video, music
Comedian, Wofai Fada, has posted a video with the caption ” Let love lead” on her 1.2 million followers’ Instagram page amidst controversies surrounding her marriage to Taiwo Cole.
The couples’ traditional wedding was held in Ugep, Cross River State, on Saturday.
However, Cole’s family denounced the engagement in a now-viral disclaimer.
In a statement issued by the family patriarch, Kunle Cole, the family dissociated themselves from the union, saying they were unaware of the marriage plans and did not grant consent or support.
“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole; neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard,” the statement read.
It continued, “As such, the person(s) parading themselves as new members of the Cole heritage by this purported event are not known nor accepted by the family. All publications and documents being circulated about this are to be disregarded.”
The actress, meanwhile, took to her page to post videos and images from the traditional rites.
In one of the posts captioned “A Queen and Her King,” the couple, dressed in traditional Cross River attire, were captured all loved up.
Meanwhile, Kehinde Cole, the twin sister of Wofai’s husband, has congratulated the new couple.
Unperturbed by her family’s rebuttal, Kehinde sent her best wishes to the union.
“Congratulations to my twin brother and my new sister in love – your union is blessed with love,” she posted on X on Sunday.
