ABUJA – A youth group, under the auspices of Nigeria in Safe Hands Project has tipped Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a better positioned candidate to win the governorship election slated for November 16, 2024.

National Coordinator of the group, Osabinu Olufemi stated this in a statement on Thursday, debunking insinuations that the election will be a repeat of what transpired in Edo State recently.

He described Aiyedatiwa as a man with great leadership acumen and strategic foresight which he said remains unparalleled.

Olufemi, while reacting to propaganda allegedly ochestrated by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, former Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi, strongly dismiss such claims as political distractions, imploring the enlightened electorate of Ondo State to see beyond the opposition’s smokescreen.

He said since his assumption of office, Governor Aiyedatiwa has displayed exceptional leadership, propelling Ondo State towards unparalleled progress across various sectors, including civil service welfare, infrastructural development, educational reform, and youth empowerment.

“The strides made by Aiyedatiwa’s administration in the educational sector are nothing short of transformative. Recognizing the pivotal role education plays in societal advancement, Governor Aiyedatiwa spearheaded the recruitment of over 2,000 teachers, effectively addressing the state’s longstanding teacher deficit.

“Moreover, by underwriting the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) fees for public school students, he has significantly alleviated the financial burden on families, ensuring that no child is deprived of their right to education due to financial constraints.

“This bold move further complements the N335 million allocated in bursaries and scholarships for students across Ondo State, enhancing access to higher learning and fostering human capital development.

“The governor has been instrumental in reviving long-abandoned projects, ensuring that educational infrastructure is restored to modern standards. His vision for an educated and enlightened populace is clear, and his policies serve as a testament to his resolve to leave an indelible mark on the state’s educational landscape,” he stated.

Commenting on youth empowerment and agricultural advancement, Olufemi said Aiyedatiwa’s administration has demonstrated an astute understanding of the critical importance of agriculture in driving economic growth and food security.

He said through his strategic initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, his government has not only increased the state’s food output but has also created significant employment opportunities, particularly for the youth. This commitment to empowering the youth is evident in the numerous programs designed to equip them with the skills and resources necessary to thrive in today’s economy.
