• Mission remains unchanged, daughter affirms
Worshipers and enthusiasts from far and near on Wednesday gathered at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun, Lagos in a night of songs and praise in memory of Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as Prophet T. B. Joshua.
Joshua died on June 5, 2021 after one of his evening services in Lagos, just a week to his 58th birthday. The programme was marked to commemorate the third year anniversary of his departure and to worship God for sustaining the ministry thus far.
Dressed in a yellow gown and white headscarf, his wife, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, led members to sing and march around the altar.Speaking during the programme, daughter of T. B. Joshua, Promise, assured that the church had not deviated from her father’s mission and vision.
She said: “The Church of All Nations has since been the church of all seasons. A ministry where satanic bondage is broken, even to the shock of unbelievers, a ministry that has stood the test of time, that continues to stand the test of time, and that will continue to stand the test of time, to the glory of God.
“Prophet T. B. Joshua was not just a global Christian leader, he was also a devoted father. And for someone who is privileged to be his daughter, this third year anniversary reminds me of the values that his life portrayed as a father. He believed so much in the principle of Mathew 25:45, and as a devoted servant of God, he served God diligently.”
Promise said as the church commemorates “this global father figure to so many people”, it will continue to celebrate the values of love that he stood for. According to her, Joshua preached that when one is hated, “we love, when persecuted, we should love.” She added that Prophet T. B. Joshua believed a true Christian is known by his love.
“I want to thank everyone for their unwavering support during these past three years to the mission of changing lives, changing nations and changing the world, and, I want to assure everyone that the mission remains the same.”
Speaking on his thoughts, three years after Joshua’s demise, Musician Tee Mac Omatshola said: “I come here regularly, and I am impressed about how clean and well maintained Synagogue is.
“Pastor Evelyn Joshua is doing an excellent job. She’s preaching. It seems T. B. Joshua passed the energy to her. I love what she’s doing; she’s spreading Synagogue all over the world. Pastor Evelyn Joshua has taken over and she’s doing well.”
In his tribute, Apostle Samuel Raboteng from South Africa, said: “I knew Prophet Joshua in about 2002 and I met him in 2009 when I came here. When I look at the life of Prophet T. B. Joshua, all I can say is that God gave us a lot in this generation. He was like a Bible being read by a human being. He was an angel of love. We remain in God today because of the love we received from Prophet T. B. Joshua. He taught me that the first ministry a person needs to prosper in is the ministry of marriage, and he always asked after my wife. Prophet T. B. Joshua never fantasised; he was a great man of God.”
