Authorities of the Kuje Custodial Centre have released Yahaya Bello, former Governor of Kogi State.
This comes after he met the bail conditions imposed on him by the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.
According to PUNCH, Bello’s release was confirmed on Friday evening by Adamu Duza, spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command.

Duza said: “Yahaya Bello has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this evening (Friday).
“The Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was on the ground to ensure his smooth release and that all protocols were observed.”
On Thursday, the court had granted bail to Bello in the sum of N500 million over money laundering charges.
Justice Maryanne Aninih also ordered Bello to produce two sureties in like sum.
The judge said sureties must be notable Nigerians with landed property in Maitama, Jabi, Utako, Apo, Guzape, Garki and Asokoro.
The judge further asked Bello to deposit his passport and other travel documents with the court registrar.
Justice Anenih had rejected Bello’s initial bail application on procedural grounds but granted bail to his co-defendants.
