The Yobe State House of Assembly has summoned the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government Council, Salisu Mutari, to appear today, Thursday, before the House Committee on petitions and respond to the allegations contained in a petition filed by the Yobe South Unity Forum (YOSUF).
The Forum has brought to the attention of the Yobe State House of Assembly that the Potiskum Local Government Chairman Salisu Mutari, has been managing the council affairs for over 100 days without formally swearing in the local government Secretary and the supervisory Councillors, which the Chairman’s actions contravene the administrative structure outlined by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Speaker of Yobe State House of Assembly, Ciroma Buba Mashio, upon receiving the petition, directed the House Committee on petitions to summon the Chairman Potiskum LGA, Salisu Mutari.

The speaker urged all political office holders in the state to strictly adhere to the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The petition was read before the House by the House Leader, Hassan Yusuf.
The Chairman of Potiskum LGA is one of the politicians described by many as untouchable due to his closeness with the Chief Executive of the State.
