Determined to ensure inclusive governance weary of gender equality, the Yobe State government has officially kicked off the 2025 bilateral discussions with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In an exclusive interview with the Focal Person for UN Women, Hajiya Fatima Paga hailed the state government’s commitment to transparency, citizen participation, and inclusive budget planning, “this marks a significant step towards inclusive governance.”
In an exclusive interview, Hajiya Paga emphasized the importance of adopting a gender-responsive approach in budget presentations. This approach according to her is crucial for addressing the unique needs of both men and women, ensuring equal access to resources, services, and opportunities in Yobe State. Given the state’s socioeconomic landscape, where women face greater barriers in education, healthcare, and economic participation, a gender-responsive budget could help bridge these gaps.
