Yobe State government has supported 15,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs with N1.5 billion to foster financial inclusion and stimulate local economies in the state.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, who flagged off the distribution at the Banquet Hall, Government House Damaturu, said the intervention was in recognition of the vital roles of Nano and small businesses in driving grassroots economic growth.
He said each one of the 15,000 beneficiaries will receive ₦100,000 to grow their business and sustain their livelihoods, saying the initiative reflect the guiding principles of his administration to protect the vulnerable, empower citizens, and create pathways for self-reliance and prosperity.

He added that the state government is addressing immediate recovery needs and laying the foundation for long-term economic resilience by supporting the SMEs with capital to boost their businesses.

In his remark, The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Small and Medium Scale Industries Credit Board, Alhaji Muhammad Alkali, said the aqgency has supported 24,160 SMEs in the last 24 months.
