    ABUJA – The Opposition Lawmakers Coalition on Sunday told the newly appointed Acting National from the camp of Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Ahmed Yayari Mohammed that his swift action demonstrates his understanding of the urgent need to reform the party and ensure a seamless transition.

    Commending Mohammed for hitting the ground running, the spokesman of the opposition lawmakers, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, in a statement, commended his decisive leadership, stating that it reflects his grasp of the party’s pressing issues.

    The lawmaker, representing Ideato North and South in the House of Representatives, emphasized that Mohammed’s actions have rekindled hope among PDP members.

    Ugochinyere also stressed that the Acting Chairman acceptance speech resonated with the Opposition Coalition, while pledging support for the resolve expressed by PDP’s new leadership to rapidly reform the party.

    “This development comes as a welcome change for the PDP, which aims to regain its footing ahead of the 2027 elections.

    The opposition coalition spokesperson highlighted Mohammed’s commitment to sanitizing the system, restoring internal democracy, and promoting peace and cohesion within the party.

    “These moves are seen as crucial in reviving the PDP’s electoral fortunes and reclaiming its status as Africa’s largest political party,” he said.

    Ugochinyere equally expressed optimism that Mohammed’s leadership would usher in a new era of stability and cooperation within the party.

    He emphasized that the House would support the acting chairman’s efforts to ensure a seamless transition and rapid reform.

    “As Mohammed settles into his new role, all eyes are on the PDP’s ability to navigate its internal challenges and emerge stronger.

    “With the 2027 elections looming, the party’s ability to present a united front will be crucial in its bid to regain power,” he said.
