Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved immediate restructuring of the state income revenue.
With the move to revitalize resources potential, Yusuf appointed Dr. Zaid Abubakar as the new Executive Chairman, Kano State Internal Revenue Services (KIRS).
Abubakar is taking over from Sani Abubakar Dambo who has been reassigned to serve as Special Adviser on Investment to the Governor.
Yusuf’s spokesman Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa said the new management restructuring takes effect immediately.
Yusuf also appointed Kassim Ibrahim as the Executive Director of the Revenue Board.
The new Executive Chairman, Kano Internal Revenue Services (KIRS) Zayd Abubakar is a thoroughbred professional accountant and tax practitioner.
Abubakar was the Executive Chairman of Kaduna Internal Revenue Services (KDIRS) from 2019 to 2023, a period he skillfully reorganised the revenue authority and doubled the IGR figure from NGN29.45 Billion in 2018 to NGN58.09 Billion in 2022.
