    The Federal Polytechnic Orogun (FEPO), Delta State, has finally begun academic activities, matriculating 150 pioneer students at the weekend.

    Former President Muhammadu Buhari approved the establishment of the polytechnic in 2022 in Orogun Community, the hometown of immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

    The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who was represented by Fuad Kayode Laguda (Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, Lagos State), and Chairman, House Committee on Federal Polytechnics and Higher Technical Education, expressed delight that the polytechnic was beginning the academic activities, lauding the “massive infrastructural development” in the institution in two years.

    Speaking during the matriculation activities, the Rector, Dr. Duke Okoro, expressed gratitude to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Board of Technical Education (NBTE), Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) for their collaboration and support towards the takeoff of the institution.

    Okoro said: “FEPO is committed to providing a top-tier education that equips you for successful careers and fulfilling lives. We have provided a dynamic and supportive learning environment that fosters your passions, hones your skills and empowers you to achieve your goals.

    “In our polytechnic, we are dedicated to providing quality education that prepares students for successful careers and fulfilling lives.
