    The Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji has said that the only way to win the current war against the Bandits, Insurgents and other criminal elements in the state is for the various security agencies in the state to work together in synergy.
    He said the current security situation in the state calls for a collective efforts from all the security agencies operating in the state, pointing out that “it is only through geninue synergy and cooperation among the Security Agencies that we can address the current situation”.
    The Speaker spoke when he received on a courtesy call, the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC), Mr. Elijah Etim Willie in his office in Minna.
    Rt. Hon. Sarkindaji told the NSCDC Boss that the activities of the Bandits, Insurgents and other criminal elements operating in the state has greatly affected and impeded geninue development in the state in the last ten years.
    According to the Speaker, “Niger state must be rescue from these enemies of the people and the government, they have brought untold hardship and mystery to communities in the state. Their activities have changed the lifestyle of our people and this is not acceptable”.
    While assuring all the security agencies in the state of the 10th assembly support towards bringing an end to the current menace, the speaker urged the security agencies in the state to operate in synergy with a renew commitment towards winning the war.
    He expressed regret that while farmers have been forced to abandoned their farming activities, citizens have continue to travel on the highways with fear and apprehension, stressing that “this must be stopped to pay way for a geninue development because the state must move forward”.
    Earlier the Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Elijah Etim Willie said he was at the assembly to solicit for the support of legislative arm of the government to enable the command succeed in it’s operation in the state, saying that he wants to leave Niger State better than he met it in terms of security.
    This, the Commandant believe can only be achieved if the command gets the necessary support and cooperation from the executive and the legislative arms of the government.
    He attributed the current security situation in parts of the state largely to activities of illegal miners, adding however that the large landmass of the state remains a great challenge to winning the war against the bandits and other insurgents in the state.
    He then assured the assembly that the NSCDC will work in synergy with other sister security agencies in the state in other to bring the activities of the Bandits under control.
