Darwin Nunez scored a last-gasp on Saturday as Liverpool defeated Nottingham Forest by a lone goal to remain on top of the premier league.

The match was heading for goalless draw when Nunez scored nine minutes into added time to break Forest’s heart.

Alexis Mac Allister swung the ball deep into the box and found Darwin Nunez unmarked, and his close-range header flew past the keeper into the bottom left corner.

Earlier, Caoimhin Kelleher had an amazing save. Anthony Elanga swirled around the defenders and attempted to beat the keeper with a close-range shot towards the bottom right corner, but failed.

Midway into the first half, Luis Diaz was first to get to a rebound but his shot was blocked.

Shortly after the restart, Andrew Robertson received a neat pass inside the box and instantly thumped the ball goalward, but a defender made a last ditch block to deny him.

In the 66th minute, Elanga drove into the box and hit a tremendous shot that, unluckily for him, flashed just wide of the left post.

Five minutes into added time Nunez jumped inside the box to meet the corner and aimed a header towards the left post, but the goalkeeper pulled off an astonishing save to deny him.
