    Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has reflected on the competitiveness and rivalry among colleagues in the movie industry.

    She opened up about how she and Funke Akindele were at odds with each other but also acknowledged that they were only in competition because they all wanted success.

    In a long Instagram post, the award-winning actress urged colleagues to shun unhealthy rivalry and learn to enjoy each other’s successes.

    Recalling her rivalries with Funke Akindele, the actress said; “You don’t own the industry, the industry is bigger than you).

    “In the English industry, Aunty Funke and I continued the rivalry sort of.

    “It pitted our fans against each other. We are two competitive Virgo women, we love to win and sometimes in that process, we splash dirt and mud.

    “But with time, age, and more wisdom, I have realized we can compete without being negatively competitive.”

    Advising upcoming actors and actresses, the “Malaika” film producer urged them to focus on supporting their goals and growth, instead of nursing bitterness with each other.

    Meanwhile, Toyin Abraham also celebrated, Mercy Aigbe, acknowledging her contributions to the film industry.

    “You have contributed to the story of strong women in Nollywood. You made many women proud.

    “Thank you for writing a better story for womanhood when the world is busy writing a different narrative about women.”

    Her latest film Malaika has sold over #300M in the box office since its release in January. While Funke Akindele’s “A Tribe Called Judah” lead the box office making over #1Billion in the process.

    Toyin Abraham celebrating her colleague, wrote; “Aunty Funke, I celebrate you for showing us what is possible. You are a winner. You sold over N1bn, you made it possible for other women to dream.

    “You ran us street with that N1bn o, this year, many of us will move to N1bnand we pray God makes you bigger.”
